The Ranji trophy match between Jharkhand and Goa, which was scheduled to commence on Friday, was washed out due to rain that lashed the city last night. The Group C match was cancelled without a ball being bowled as the rain has made the outfield soggy, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association said. The steel city had experienced a good spell of rain last night and overcast weather condition prevailed today. Jharkhand finally got off the mark after a good performance against Kerala in the previous round three of the competition, beating them by 113 runs. Skipper Varun Aaron bowled exceptionally well picking up a five-wicket haul in the first innings, which will surely give him a lot of confidence moving in this round. But it was Shahbaz Nadeem’s seven-wicket haul in the second innings that stole the show. Live Cricket Score, Jharkhand vs Goa, Ranji Trophy 2015-16, Group C match, Day 1 at Jamshedpur

Goa on the other hand are still unbeaten in the competition, but have conceded the first innings lead n three occasions, which they will want to rectify when they face Jharkhand. It is unclear whether the match will begin on Day Two. The forecast does not look particularly good for Day Two. It is highly likely that the match may not happen at all. This will be a huge blow to both teams as they were looking to get a win and make progress in the tournament. Both teams will hope that the match begins on Day Two without any further interruptions.
