Guwahati: Pacer Krishna Das cleaned up the Rajasthan lower order batting to complete his five-wicket haul as Assam shot out the visiting team for 186 and then take 26-run lead on the second day of their Ranji Trophy 2015-16 Group A match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Friday. Rajasthan began the day on 147 for 5 and Das took four of the remaining five wickets as the visitors added only 39 runs to their overnight score, eventually getting dismissed for a lowly score of 186 in 83.4 overs. Assam lost Rishav Das for an eight-ball duck in reply but were steadied by a second-wicket stand of 83 between Pallavkumar Das and skipper Gokul Sharma, with the latter falling four short of a half-century. Ajay Singh dismissed both set batsmen in the 31st and 33rd over though, and Assam were wobbling at 88 for 3.
Arun Karthik followed his century in the previous game with an unbeaten 60 and steadied the innings. His partnership with Tarjinder Singh, who was batting on 24 off 73 balls at stumps, for the fifth wicket was worth 74 at stumps and had helped Assam to a lead of 26 with six wickets in hand.
Singh remained the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan, adding three scalps to his tally for 43 runs, with Nathu Singh taking the only other wicket of the day.
