Jammu and Kashmir finished Day One placed precariously at 274 for eight thanks to a resilient hundred by Parvez Rasool. His was the innings that stood out ona day when other batsmen threw starts or failed to get started at all. No other batsman even reached fifty although Adil Reshi and Ian Chauhan got into their forties before throwing away starts. The rest of the batting was a no show which makes Rasool’s hundred that much more special. In the bowling department, Rishi Dhawan was the most expensive, but also picked three wickets. Paras Sharma was dismissed shortly after for 23 runs by Vashisht with J&K at 89. After that dismissal Rasool stitched a good partnership with Chauhan worth 77 runs. Bandeep Singh was then dismissed for 13, while Samad went for a duck.
