The Group A match between Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Uttar Pradesh (UP) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad of Ranji Trophy 2016-17 resumed on the third day ended with seven wickets and 163 runs being scored. The third day of the match began with UP score of 131 for five with Eklavya Dwivedi and Kuldeep Yadav at crease. After adding only one run on day three, UP lost its sixth wicket of the innings in the form of Dwivedi. Yadav tried to drag with his bat couldn t do much as UP were all out for mere 176 and had to face follow on as they were trailing by huge score of 289 runs. Because of injury, Rain did not bat as UP had to bat with only 10 batsmen. In the second innings, UP began their batting with openers Tanmay Srivastava and Almas Shaukat. Tanmay played a decent knock of 60 runs while Shaukat got out on 25. After the fall of first wicket, batsman Umang Sharma too departed after scoring only two. At the end of day three of the match, UP are currently not at a very good position with 118 runs on board for two. Batsman Tanmay and Sarfaraz Khan are currently unbeaten at the crease and will resume UP s batting with the hope to rescue their side from defeat.

Including those two wickets in the second innings of UP, Ishwar Pandey from MP was the pick of the bowler as he scalped three wickets from the entire day.
