At Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala trumped Saurashtra, increasing their chances to reach the knockout stage. Kerala won by 309 runs and placed at the second position with tally of 24 points.

Saurashtra who began the day with an overnight score of 90 for 1, were cleaned for 95, courtesu Jalaj Saxena’s four-wicket haul. Saurashtra lost Robin Uthappa for 12 in the first session. Sheldon Jackson posted a good fight with his 74-ball 24 in a bid to save the game. However, with his dismissal, Saurashtra were handed their first loss in this season.

At Surat: With yet another win, Gujarat have landed at the top of the Group B table earning bonus seven points. They thrashed Rajasthan by an innings and 107 runs.

Starting the day at 183 for 4, Rajasthan posted a stiff fight against Gujarat. Although they lost early wickets in the first session, the middle-order rose to occasion and frustrated the Gujarat bowlers. Mahipal Lomror (60), Rajesh Bishnoi (29), Siddharth Dobai (30) and Tajinder Singh (28) pitched in with their performances. The deficit that Rajasthan had to cover on Day Four was 265. Once Dobai was dismissed, Tajinder lost his tail-end partners in succession, courtesy Piyush Chawla (3 for 80).

For Gujarat it was Siddharth Desai who was the pick of bowlers with his figures of 5 for 129.

Man of the Match: Chintan Gaja

At Rohtak: In a low-scoring affair, Ajit Chahal’s fifer helped Haryana clinch thriller 18-run win over Jammu & Kashmir. Haryana have won their first win in this season of Ranji Trophy, lifting them to third last position.

Jammu & Kashmir were on top as their bowlers removed Haryana’s tail-end batsmen. In a bid to chase 176, they were off to shaky start. Opener Ahmed Bandy ran himself out. Since, the onus fell on Bandeep Singh who slammed 57-ball 44 that featured 4 fours and 2 sixes. However, the entry of Chahal shook Jammu & Kashmir batting line-up.

Opener Shubham Khajuria and Puneet Bisht fell in succession. Skipper Pervez Rasool and Owais Shah went on to add a crucial partnership of 54 runs thereafter. However, Amit Mishra scalped the big wicket of Rasool for 30. The lower-order failed to provide any support to Owais, who remained unbeaten on 52.
