Fast bowler Sandeep Warrier picked 5/33 as Bengal crashed to 184 all out, thus setting Kerala meager target of 41 runs which was knocked off by Kerala in 11 overs, but they lost one wicket – that of Jalaj Saxena (26) – thus missing out on a bonus point.

Bengal started the day at 5/1, having conceded a big lead of 144, and were buoyed by an 89-run stand between Sudip Chatterjee (39) and Manoj Tiwary (62), but once Tiwary departed for 115, Bengal went on to lose their last seven wickets for just 69 runs.

Warrier, who had accounted for openers Abhishek Raman and Koushik Ghosh, got rid of Tiwary and then went on to add scalps of Chatterjee and Ishan Porel. Fellow fast bowler Basil Thampi, who had picked up four wickets in the first innings, added three wickets to his name while MD Nidheesh and Jalaj took one wicket each.

Jalaj was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his 143 that had helped Kerala to 291 in their first innings. He also took two wickets in the match.
