Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Elite C, Round 3, Day 1: Rajesh Mohanty, Anurag Sarangi give Odisha control over Assam

Like with the other 2018-19 Ranji Trophy round three matches playing in the eastern part of the country, it was the pace bowlers who had a say on proceedings in Guhawati, where hosts Assam were bowled out for 121 by Odisha.

Rajesh Mohanty’s five wickets played a big role in dismissing Assam in 51.1 overs, his two early wickets setting the tone for one-way traffic. Each of the four others also struck telling blows to stymie the hosts, for whom Riyan Prayag made 28 before he became Mohanty’s third wicket. Ranjeet Mali’s 28 was the best score of the innings. Mohanty claimed figures of 18-9-31-5.
