Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Elite C, Round 4, Day 3: Rajasthan ahead of UP with big lead

Rajasthan remain on top of hosts Uttar Pradesh in their 2018-19 Ranji Trophy Elite Group C round four match at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium, owing a lead of 233 runs heading into the final day.

Uttar Pradesh added 67 runs to their overnight total with Upendra Yadav last out for 67 and Shivam Mavi getting a handy 21, and at the end of the day left frustrated by Rajasthan opener Arun Gautam who was not out on 66.

A lead of 97 secured in the morning session after Aniket Choudhary claimed his fifth wicket and Nathu Singh made his first mark on the game, Rajasthan were dealt an early loss when Chetan Bist was bowled for 0 by Ankit Rajpoot and MN Singh followed in the same manner soon after.

Robin Bist made 32 and skipper Mahipal Lomror 26, but it is Gautam’s 142-ball vigil that has been the most crucial.
