Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Elite C, Round 7, Day 2: Assam move into handy lead Goa

Hosts Assam kept themselves ahead on day two of their seventh round Group C Ranji Trophy 2018-19 fixture against Goa in Guwahati, overturning a deficit of 18 runs into a lead of 101 by stumps.

Goa were bowled out for 193 in reply to Assam’s 175 on day one, with Arup Das and Mukhtar Hussain claiming three wickets each and Ranjeet Mali and Pallav Das two each. Only Snehal Kauthankar managed to cross 35, ending as the innings’ top-scorer with 69 from 116 balls.

Rishav Das moved into the close on 51 not out to hold up one end of Assam’s second innings, after his former team-mate Krishna Das swept up all four wickets to fall.
