It took Haryana just nine deliveries on the fourth and final morning to wrap up the Tripura innings in Agartala to record their second win of the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season. Chasing 162, the hosts were bowled out for 106 in 32.3 overs as Haryana won their Round 5 fixture of Group C by 55 runs on Sunday.

Resuming on their overnight total of 104/7, Tripura lost Harmeet Singh off the second delivery of the day without the addition of any run to their total. Captain Harshal Patel had Harmeet caught by Pramod Chandial for 16.

He then bowled Ajoy Sarkar (2) with the last delivery of the over to bring his team on the brink of a win. Ashish Hooda then cleaned up Pratyush Singh (23) in the following over, bringing an end to Tripura’s misery.

Amit Rana was the pick of Haryana bowlers in the second innings with figures of 4/37 while Tinu Kundu finished with 3/19.

While it was Haryana’s second win in five matches, it was Tripura’s fourth defeat and they continue to remain winless in Group C.
