Sikkim were skittled out for 140 in their second essay following on to hand Uttarakhand a crushing innings and 178-run win, their third successive victory, on the final day of the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Plate group Round Three match at the KIIT Cricket Stadium in Bhubaneshwar on Friday.
Resuming at their overnight score of 27/2 following on, fast bowler Deepak Dhapola proved to be the architect of Sikkim’s downfall with four wickets.
Sikkim displayed no grit in their batting department with as many as eight players registering single-digit scores. Milind Kumar, who continued his sublime form with the bat and smashed 133 to register his third successive triple-digit score in the first dig, fell for 61 after he was caught by Vineet Saxena off Dhapola.

Ashish Thapa was the scorer in Sikkim’s dismal showing with the bat, adding 35 before he was caught by Rajat Bhatia off left-arm spinner Vaibhav Singh Panwar. Lee Yong Lepcha added 10 before he was cleaned up by Dhapola, who returned with figures of four for 44 in his 12.5 overs.
Uttarakhand are now sitting comfortable on top with 20 points in their three matches, while Sikkim have slipped to third.
