UP, who started the day at 172/8, could only add 22 more runs before being all out. Wicket-keeper batsman Upendra Singh (35) and Yash Dayal (1) were taken by Saurashtra Jaydev Unadkat, who finished with 2/34. Left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja claimed 4/53 while pacer Chetan Sakariya returned 3/38.  

In chase of 373 to win and seal a semi-final spot Saurashtra had a good start with openers Harvik Desai and Snell Patel adding 132 runs for the opening wicket in 44 overs. UP finally broke through when young Shivam Mavi send back Patel for 72 off 114 balls.

Vishvaraj Jadeja then got together Desai to add 54 more runs before falling to UP skipper Akshdeep Nath for 35 off 63 balls late in the day. Kamlesh Makhvana walked in as the night-watchman, to protect Cheteshwar Pujara, and he saw out the day scoring four runs off the 17 balls he faced. Desai at the other end had scored 83 after facing 208 deliveries.

At stumps, Saurashtra are 195/2, adrift of the target by 177 runs.
