After the hosts added 11 runs to their overnight tally before being bowled out for 275 in 100.3 overs, they inflicted regular strikes despite opener Snell Patel’s 85.

Alongside Harvik Desai, Snell led a solid start adding 43 runs. Ronit gave landed the first blow when he had Desai caught by his captain Manish Pandey for 16.

Ronit struck again and this time he got rid of Vishvaraj Jadeja (5) cheaply before the arrival of Cheteshwar Pujara.

Pujara and Snell steered the innings adding 74 runs for the third wicket. With the duo settled in nicely, Shreyas Gopal provided a timely breakthrough in Snell who was caught by wicketkeeper Srinivas Sharath off the final delivery of 45th over. He struck 15 fours during his stay while consuming 131 deliveries.

Pujara was then joined by Sheldon Jackson and they took Saurashtra further close to Karnataka’s total. Abhimanyu Mithun then had Pujara caught and bowled for a big breakthrough who departed after scoring 45 off 99.

However, that gave way to another decent partnership with Jackson at the forefront as together with Aarpit Vasavada, he added 45 runs. Ronit then got rid of Jackson (46) as he also failed to build on the start and that triggered a collapse.

From 223/4, they lost three wickets for the addition of four runs. More accounted for all the three victims while completing his fifer. He removed Prerak Mankad for a two-ball duck and then Kamlesh Makvana (1) with what turned out to be the last delivery of the day.
