Rahul Tewatia, an all-rounder for the Gujarat Titans, changed his appearance for Haryana’s Ranji Trophy match against Jharkhand, and his look quickly gained popularity on social media. His vintage appearance captivated fans, who immediately began equating him with a number of deceased cricket greats. Many of them, including India’s captain Kapil Dev and Pakistan’s Javed Miandad, who won the 1983 World Cup, were mentioned in the remarks left by social media users. With his team’s total at 509 after the first innings, Tewatia, who was in excellent form on the pitch, went on to make his first century of the Ranji season with a 212-ball-144.

The Haryana Cricket Association released a picture of Tewatia on Sunday along with his batting figures, which ultimately proved to be crucial in the team’s convincing victory by an innings and 205 runs. Additionally, it assisted Haryana in moving up to the second position in the Elite Group A points standings, with three victories and two draws in six games to total 24 points—four fewer than Vidarbha, who lead the table with four wins and a draw in six games.

Amit Kumar’s century at the start and Tewatia’s 144 helped Haryana score 509. Jharkhand was then dismissed for 119 as Jayant Yadav showed off his skills with a five-wicket haul and Tewatia’s wicket. When Jharkhand batted again, they could only muster 185 runs, allowing Haryana to triumph spectacularly with Jayant bagging another four.
