Ravi Shastri’s tenure as Indian team director extended till ICC World T20 2016

BCCI acknowledged the performances of the support staff in recent times.

Based on the recommendations of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended the appointment of Ravi Shastri as the Team director of the Indian Cricket Team till the ICC World T20 2016. Acknowledging the performance of the Indian Cricket team and the efforts of the coaching staff in recent times, the board also endorsed the extension of their tenure. BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya and secretary Anurag Thakur appreciated the work done by the coaching staff and accepted the decision unanimously. Along with Shastri, the Committee also approved the extension of the assistant coaches till the ICC World T20 2016.

Thus, Sanjay Bangar (Assistant Coach- Batting), Bharath Arun (Assistant Coach- Bowling) and R. Sridhar (Assistant Coach- Fielding) will continue their work with the Indian team. The CAC of the BCCI consists of former India captains Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, former Test Cricketer VVS Laxman, BCCI President Dalmiya and secretary Thakur.
