Ravichandran Ashwin‘s good show with bat and ball in the Sydney Test against Australia has made him the ninth Indian cricketer to get 1,000 runs and atleast 100 wickets in Test cricket. On Friday, Ashwin scored a gutsy half-century and helped India to go past 450-run mark. Later with ball in hand he took four wickets also. This is only the 24th Test of his career.
Ashwin is the third fastest cricketer in the world to achieve the feat. Only England Ian Botham and Vinoo Mankad are ahead of him. Botham took 21 Tests whereas Mankad reached that level in 23 Tests.
