India’s ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sandesh to Soldiers’ campaign with a brilliant message to the brave-hearts through his official Twitter account. Ashwin carries a huge fan following on social media and is often seen trolling the trollers on the micro-blogging site. His message will surely inspire many Indians to join this campaign and spread more awareness about the hard work put by our soldiers. Ashwin’s message was quite different from most of the people as he called them VVIP’s of the nation and made two cups of coffee, one for himself and one for them. Full Cricket Scorecard, India vs New Zealand, 5th ODI.

Ashwin also hailed the sacrifices made by the soldiers as they stay away from home, be it any festival. “On this auspicious occasion of Diwali, today we all are celebrating this holy festival but there are also some people who do not get any leaves on this festive day. Today, they are protecting us and because of that, every house is full of lights and I salute to those brave soldiers. Happy Diwali to the Indian Armed Forces. I have made two cups of coffee — one for me and one in their memory. Someday, we will have this together,” said Ashwin.

Besides Ashwin, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh also posted a video from their respective official social media accounts and quoted Indian soldiers as the biggest heroes of the nation. Yuvraj Singh also pledged his next innings to soldier’s name.

Ashwin will be back in action soon with the start of Test series against England at home.
