South Africa lost their third wicket with 96 runs registered on the board as Rilee Rossouw was clean bowled off the bowling of Sean Williams for a knock of 36 from 39 balls. The dismissal brought an abrupt end to a fruitful partnership between Rossouw and du Plessis which was worth 70 runs and had recovered the Proteas from a bad start.
Williams managed to send a gem of a delivery as the ball was pitched well outside off-stump, which Rossouw saw as an opportunity to cut for a boundary. It ended with the ball going for a vicious turn and missing any contact with the bat, rattling Rossouw’s off-stump. The 24-year old missed out on a well-deserved maiden half-century.

The South Africans will hope for another strong display by Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers, who has shared a mammoth 206-run partnership against Australia in their seven-wicket victory earlier in the tournament.
