Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who missed the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia, has finally arrived in Australia.
He had earlier communicated to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he wants to spend more time with his family, which resulted in Jasprit Bumrah taking the lead of the team as a stand-in captain.

Rohit himself accepted after the series loss against England that he does not know about his availability for the Test against Australia. “Right now, I am not too sure whether I’ll be going, but let’s see. Fingers crossed,” he had stated.
Before he departed for Australia, Rohit gave a goodbye hug to his wife Ritika, who had come with him to the airport. Now, Rohit is likely to be seen in the practice match against Prime Minister’s XI before he officially comes back to his captaincy duties in the Adelaide Test, set to begin December 6.

The absence of Rohit resulted in significant questions being raised for India in BGT, especially since the team had come from a humiliating 3-0 home series defeat to New Zealand.
