India opener Rohit Sharma became the third player to reach 200, when he achieved the feat against Australia in the seventh One-Day International (ODI) match of the series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.

He became the third batsman after Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag to achieve the feat.

During the course of the innings, he also surpassed the record of the highest number of sixes slammed in an innings by an Indian. Mahendra Singh Dhoni earlier held the record of 10 sixes.

Having been inconsistent throughout his five-year international career, Rohit has finally lived upto his potential as he also crossed the 1,000-run mark in 2013.
