Rohit Sharma ruled out of ODI, T20 series in England; Murali Vijay named replacement

Rohit Sharma has fractured his middle finger, Murali Vijay to open with Dhawan.

Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of rest of the One-Day International (ODI) series and the only Two match against England due to a fractured middle-finger. India’s regular Test opener Murali Vijay is set to replace him in the squad.

Rohit had started of well in the ODI series with a fifty. He has been a regular opener in ODIs since he struck form with Shikhar Dhawan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.

Vijay, his replacement has played has played 14 ODIs for India and has scored only 253 runs at an average of 19.46 with a highest of 33.
