Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming has openly spoken about their star player Ravindra Jadeja struggling to face spin bowlers in the ongoing 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are at the bottom two teams in the points table as of now.
In the initial phase of the IPL 2025, Ravindra Jadeja was given the role of a finisher and he came lower in the order. However, in the last couple matches, he has been moved up in the lineup due to tactical changes. This change in the bating order has caused Jadeja to face more spin bowling- the aspect of his batting that has been his weakness in this IPL season.
Stephen Fleming openly stated that Ravindra Jadeja has a lot of place to improve himself for facing spin. He also shared him being positive for the talented all-rounder to make and apply effective strategies to overcome this challenge.
“There’s a lot of room for improvement in our view and it’s a little bit of opportunity. I know in the past that he’s done it for a couple of games, but he hasn’t had a big run at it, and it’s more the attitude towards it. So we’re exploring a lot of things at the moment to see whether there are gains within the side with one view on trying to win every game remaining in the IPL but also in the future,” said Fleming in the pre-match press conference.
