The Trans-Tasman rivalry between New Zealand and Australia is the most talked about neighbourly rivalry in cricket after India-Pakistan opposition. During the second match of Chappell-Hadlee Trophy in 2007, Ross Taylor took a superlative catch to dismiss Michael Hussey, covering copious ground before making a desperate but successful dive to hold the catch.

The Blackcaps had won the first match of the series and the Kangaroos had to win this match not only to keep them alive in the three match series but also to keep their number one spot in One-Day International (ODI) rankings. New Zealand’s skipper Stephen Fleming asked Australia to bat first in the match. Michael Hussey and Brad Hodge played brilliantly to help them to put a total of 336.

Off the second ball of the 43rd over, Craig McMilan bowled a slower delivery to Hussey. The Australian left-hander  gave himself some room to play a slog sweep but could not judge the speed of the ball and top edged to see the ball soar high. Fielding at long -off, ran in and slid on the ground to take great catch, just inches off the ground. Chasing 337 runs to win, New Zealand comfortably won the match by five wickets. Taylor scored a fine 117 and was also awarded the Man of the Match.
