South African all-rounder Ryan McLaren shall return to Hampshire for the 2016 season, after helping the club, who was struggling from an unlikely return from being assigned to a lower position. McLaren was named in a late-season loan deal. The south-coast county confirmed their LV= County Championship Division One survival, at the last day of the series by winning at Nottinghamshire. Hampshire winning at Durham, was highly influenced by the presence of the 32-year-old player, who took seven wickets in his first game. However, McLaren shall be available to playing for Hampshire, in all formats next summer, after the player signs a deal for the whole season, reports ecb.co.uk. Giles White, the Hampshire director of cricket, trust’s completely on Ryan McLaren and in his opinion, getting an experienced player like McLaren for a full-season, will provide a good base for the next summer. He said, “Ryan came into the team at the back end of last season, impressed everyone and proved to be a great fit for us, He gives the team balance, is an excellent professional and performs in both red and white ball cricket. Having an overseas player around for the whole season is a big bonus and we look forward to meeting up with him in pre-season.”
Played in two Tests and 66 limited-overs internationals and playing for three Indian Premier League seasons, McLaren has a excellent experience across all formats.
