Sachin Tendulkar will soon be seen as a comic-book hero

Sachin Tendulkar is a national hero. A hero, worldwide indeed. Now gear up to see the Master Blaster in a comic book hero avatar. A report from Mumbai Mirror states that his autobiography Playing It My Way will come up with another edition featuring a section projecting Tendulkar as a comic book hero. The target audience for the abridged version are children. The report confirms that the book will be in stands in just over a week. Publishers Hachette India have mentioned that the comic hero portion of the book will be about 25 pages and will carry some of the most exciting cricketing moments from Tendulkar’s career. Talking of Tendulkar’s heroics, the Desert Storm 1998 (his wizardry against Australia at Sharjah) features prominently in this section.

There will also be an episode of young Tendulkar practicing with his coach Ramakant Achrekar placing a coin on the stumps. This bit was well highlighted in a 2007 Adidas advertisement.

“Sachin’s team has worked on the book and it will have features that will be exciting for the young readers,” Thomas Abraham of Hachette India was quoted in the report. The new edition will be half the size of the original 2014-released 486-page book.
