Sachin Tendulkar equals Allan Border's world record of 63 half-centuries

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar on Friday equaled the record of Allan Border for most number of fifties in Test cricket.

 

Tendulkar scored his 63rd fifty in the first innings of the third Test against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, but could not convert it to hundred as he was dismissed on 94 on day four.

Rahul Dravid is just behind Tendulkar and Border with 62 fifties to his name. VVS Laxman with 55 fifties and Sunil Gavaskar (45) are the other Indians batsmen in the top 10 list of cricketers with most fifties.

 

Others in the list include Ricky Ponting (57), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (56), Jacques Kallis (55) and Steve Waugh (50)
