Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has congratulated Boxer Mary Kom on winning the Bronze medal at the London Olympics, 2012 after her loss on Wednesday to Britain’s Nicola Adams.
Tendulkar tweeted, “Mary Kom is an amazing woman. What an effort to win a medal for India. We all are extremely proud of you.”
Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle too congratulated the star boxer on his tweeter account.
While mentioning about the hurdles Mary had to overcome to rise to the new heights in Boxing, Bhogle said,” Bravo Mary Kom! Nobody but you could have embraced the hurdles in your path and brought India a medal. Proud of you. Huge fan.
“It’s been a very long time since I have seen a nation so stirred by a simple woman extolling simple virtues.”

Cricketer Aakash Chopra too praised the Bronze medalist at the Olympics, “Even though you have to settle for a bronze, Mary Kom you’ll always be our Golden Girl. A true champion.”
