Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Monday hailed Sachin Tendulkar as a hero and an inspiration for millions of youngsters across the world.
In an event organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to felicitate the Little Master, Chavan said he hopes that Tendulkar remains connected to the game even after his retirement.
“He is not only a great cricketer and a great sportsman, but also a great hero who has given us plenty of moments of sporting pleasure. He has broken most of the records in the game. For his achievements and demeanour, he is not only admired in Mumbai and Maharashtra, but all over the world. Millions of young people across the world have been inspired by him,” he said.
“His retirement comes as a sad news and he will be missed. But I hope he continous to remain associated with the game,” Chavan concluded.
