Sachin Tendulkar on Satyamev Jayate: Sports should be a subject in school

Sachin Tendulkar appeared live on call during the October 5 episode of Satyamev Jayate hosted by Aamir Khan. Tendulkar, spoke in his capacity as a Rajya Sabha member, and promoted his sports4all initiative.

 

Tendulkar said that sports was discouraged in our country and academics was given higher preference. He thanked his professors in school, who encouraged his cricket. He also said that sports instilled many positive qualities in students, and therefore, should be included as a subject.

Tendulkar has retired from international cricket. During his career, he broke several records and won many hearts. He is the only player to have scored 100 international centuries, and even holds the record for most runs.
