According to media sources, Mumbai Civic authority Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has slapped a fine of Rs. 4.35 lakhs on Sachin Tendulkar for his new home in Bandra.
The chief engineer (development plan) R Kukanur was quoted in CNN IBN as saying, “He will be penalised Rs 4.75 lakh for inhabiting a house before getting the OC. It was due in procedure and he would have got the OC in the next four days.”
As per the law, one cannot enter a flat or building without receiving an OC for it. The action was initiated against Sachin by slapping a notice under Section 350 (A) of the BMC Act for occupying premises without an OC.
Sachin Tendulkar on September 28 fulfilled his long cherished dream of living in a house of his own as he moved into a sprawling bungalow at Perry Cross Road in suburban Bandra, Mumbai.
The batting maestro’s new home has been reconstructed on a plot that earlier housed a dilapidated bungalow, which Sachin had bought for Rs 39 crore in 2007.
Tendulkar has shifted his residence from La Mer Housing Society, also in Bandra west, to the spacious villa that is spread over 6,000 square feet.
