The above picture is a rare one consisting several Indian star cricketers of the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Venkatesh Prasad, Javagal Srinath, Sunil Joshi, Anil Kumble and Vikram Rathour. All these players were excellent in domestic cricket and most made it big at the grand international stage too. Ganguly was skipper of an Indian team that was considered by many as the best ever consisting players like Dravid, Tendulkar and Kumble in the ranks. The picture contains a good mix of quality bowlers and batsmen. Prasad, Srinath and Kumble were excellent bowlers and Srinath still holds the record for most One-Day International (ODI) wickets for India, while Kumble holds the same stature in Tests. As far as batsmen are concerned it is well known that Tendulkar is the most prolific run scorer of all time with most runs in Tests and ODIs separately. Rahul Dravid holds the record for most deliveries faced at the international level (among the ones recorded). The picture was from the late-nineties era and is a rather rare and candid picture capturing India’s superstars in modest home wear. All of the players in the picture are now retired but left behind lasting legacies. Dravid, Ganguly and Tendulkar are still involved with Indian cricket to a large extent.
