The union sports minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday congratulated legendary Sachin Tendulkar on a wonderful career, which will come to an end after the historic 200th Test match against West Indies in an upcoming home series, terming him an “extraordinary sports icon”.
According to a press release issued by the ministry, it states,”Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports wishes Shri Sachin Tendulkar, the very best on his retirement from cricket. Shri Sachin Tendulkar is an extra-ordinary sports icon who will continue to inspire Indians and all sports lovers to achieve excellence in sports.”
It also stated: “The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports look forward to working with Shri Sachin Tendulkar to promote sports in the country.”
