Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who started his journey as a member of Rajya Sabha, wrote a letter to the Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal, explaining his plans of developing of integrating sports with the education system in India.
According to reports, the ministry accepted Tendulkar’s suggestions and has invited the batting legend to put forward a detailed presentation about the same.
The letter also mentioned that sports should be made a compulsory activity in India’s education system.
“We welcome Sachin Tendulkar’s proposal and I have already written to him inviting him for a presentation so that the details can be talked through. Once that is done we will ask both CBSE and NCERT to look into how sports can be made an integral part of the school curriculum”, Kapil Sibal was quoted as being said by Zee News.
Earlier, Sachin had mention in a television interview that there isn’t much cricket left in him.
“At the moment, my heart says I am okay,” he said.
“I am 39 and I don’t think I have plenty of cricket left in me. But it depends on my frame of mind and my physical ability to deliver. When I feel that I am not delivering what is needed, and then I will re-look at the scheme of things. I am already 39 and no one expects me to go on playing forever. I will go with what my heart says.”
