Indian cricketing legend and opener Sachin Tendulkar along with former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly scored haf-centuries each as Sachin’s Blasters finished on a chalenging total of 219 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs, setting a target of 220 for Warne’s Warriors to win in the third and final T20 at the Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Apart from them, Mahela Jayawrdene, Carl Hooper and opener Virender Sehwag too played a sensible knock while Sehwag allowed to get the Blasters off to a positive start. Earlier, Sachin won the toss and elected to bat first as he along with Sehwag came out to open the innings and together put up the opening 55-runs stand, before Sehwag departed for 27 in the fourth over off Courtney Walsh. However, it was followed by a 74-run stand for the second wicket between Sachin and Mahela Jayawrdene, before Sachin scored his half-century and fell for 56 to Vettori.
After a couple of overs, he was soon followed by Jayawardene, who fell for 41 to Andrew Symonds at the score of 132. However, it was the pair of Ganguly and Carl hooper, who put up an 86-run stand for the fourth wicket, as Ganguly brought up his half-century as well, and was dismissed of the very next delivery off Vettori, and soon to be followed by Moin Khan as well for a golden duck to Vettori again, as Hooper and Laxman batted out for the rest of the session to allow the Blasters put up a challenging total of 219.
