Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar sent a courier which contained a gift-wrapped Mumbai Indians T-shirt autographed by him to Aakash Dwivedi, an Indore based fan. It was a gift from the cricketer for Dwivedi’s daughter who is turning five on February 25.
Dwivedi, who owns an IT solution firm Web Vantage in Indore, came to know about unique ‘Talk to Me’ campaign started by Bharti Airtel last year in which the Airtel users were given a chance to converse with their favourite celebrity through a phone call.
“I tried my luck on November 7 last year when Sachin was talking to his fans. I was more than sad as Sachin said that this was the last call but the next moment I was connected to him,” said Aakash, as reported by Daily News and Analysis.
“I talked to him and he recounted his stay in Indore during a month training camp in 1986. I told him that I am a big fan of him and always wished to get his autograph and also told him that my daughter whose birthday falls on February 25 is also his fan,” said Aakash.
“Next day, I got a call from his side and the person asked for my postal address and after 15 days, a courier containing Sachin’s autographed T-shirt landed at my home. It was so nice to see a superstar taking care of his fan with such affection and care,” exclaimed Dwivedi.
Dwivedi was enthralled by Sachin’s gesture and was floored by the great man’s humility to keep up a promise. He expressed desire for personally meeting and expressing gratitude to this modest cricket star.
