On the occasion of Republic Day, India skipper Virat Kohli and former cricketers Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman wished their countrymen on Twitter. This is the 68th republic day as India’s constitution was adopted on January 26, 1950. The day will be even more special for Indians as Team India will later take on England for the first Twenty20 International (T20I) at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. India are coming off back to back victories as they had earlier defeated England in the Test series and the One-Day International (ODI) series in the ongoing tour. The T20I series will be England’s last chance to gain some respect.
Kohli wrote in Hindi on Twitter about the prestigious occasion, wishing for the Indian tri-colour to fly high forever. Tendulkar, on the other hand, shared a picture of himself holding the flag above his head and wrote about the day. Among other cricketers who shared their thoughts on the day are Laxman and Sehwag. While Laxman spoke of ‘saluting the nation’ along with a picture of India, the later shared a picture of an Indian flag and wished everyone. Here is how they tweeted on the day in their own, unique style. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs England, 1st T20I at Kanpur

India will play England in the first T20I at Kanpur, which is also the first T20I match where Kohli will stand as captain. He has already led the team successfully in the ODI series standing as the full-time captain for the first time and will look to replicate the same in the T20I series.
