Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar spoke at an event in Mumbai, offering a message to the Indian cricket team ahead of the ICC World Cup 2015. Tyre manufacturing company MRF displayed the 2015 World Cup trophy at the launch of their new Zsport tyre. MRF has had a close and long-standing affiliation with cricket in India. The MRF pace foundation has been supplying India with fast bowlers since its establishment. Fans would also remember how Tendulkar’s bats used to have the MRF sticker on it.
Speaking at the event, Tendulkar wished the team ahead of the World Cup. “Genuine support to team India in world cup. You will have difficult moments and obstacles but need to inspire and move ahead. Pray to god to help India succeed.” Tendulkar went on to write a message to the Indian team: “Enjoy the game and give your best. We are all with you.”
India play their first game of the World Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan. Incidentally, it will be India’s first World Cup encounter with Pakistan not to feature Tendulkar. India have a perfect 5-0 win record against Pakistan in World Cup, dating back to 1992.
