Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal was included in the 15-man World Cup squad, according to media reports late on Wednesday. Ajmal is currently banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for suspect bowling action, though the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was hoping to get his action cleared before the onset of the mega-event.

According to a report by Geo News, Ajmal would be allowed to play in the World Cup, which starts on February 14 next year, if he manages to get his action cleared. The Pakistan team-management would be allowed to get in a replacement beyond the deadline should he fail to clear the tests. Ajmal has not played international cricket since the end of August, though he played for Pakistan ‘A’ in a match against Kenya in Lahore recently, bowling with an action that took a lot of correcting.
