Mohsin Khan (Pakistan‘s chief selector and former head coach) is of the view that the tainted trio of Mohammad Aamer, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt should not be allowed to play for Pakistan gain. He is of the opinion that Butt, Aamer and Asif damaged the reputation of the country and betrayed the nation by getting involved in match-fixing. According to Khan the trio may play First-Class cricket to earn their living but playing at national level is not acceptable and gives wrong signal to other nations. He added that every cricketer should put country’s honour at the forefront and play with delight, dignity and honesty. In a conversation with tribune.com.pk Mohsin said, “For the betrayal and damage Aamer, Asif and Salman have done to the country, they should be banned for life. They may be allowed to play domestic cricket though.” Mohsin then went on to say that PCB requires an overhauling and all the corruption and malpractices should be done away with, “I appeal to Patron In Chief of PCB to launch an inquiry into the affairs of the board and for presence of tainted coaching staff in Pakistan team and in Pakistan Super League (PSL). PCB should have waited for a good time to launch the PSL in Pakistan instead of choosing Qatar as the venue.” Mohsin Khan also said that he was sad when PCB sidelined him for coach’s job and did not extend his tenure.
