Sarfraz faced balls and slammed six fours to reach the three-figure mark for the first time in his career. The right-handed batsman, who opened the innings for Pakistan, carried on his good run as he had scored a crucial 49 in the match against South Africa. Live scorecard: Pakistan vs Ireland

Sarfraz has been the key to Pakistan’s strong reply against Ireland. The right-handed batsman was earlier involved in a crucial 120-run opening stand with Ahmed Shehzad, and then later on teamed up with Misbah-ul-Haq to keep Pakistan on top.

Sarfraz has turned out to be an excellent option for Pakistan as the wicketkeeper-batsman has turned up on a strong note after being ignored for the earlier stages in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Sarfraz had replaced the struggling Nasir Jamshed in the match against South Africa and since then he has been very impressive behind the wickets as well as with the bat.
