It took just 65 deliveries for India Blue on Day 4 of their Duleep Trophy final to get rid of remaining five India Red batsmen in Dindigui to register a title clinching innings and 187-run win on Friday. The spin duo of Saurabh Kumar (5/51) and Deepak Hooda (5/56) razed down the defending champions’ batting order in 38.5 overs to bowl them out for 172 in second innings.

Resuming on their overnight score of 128/5 at the NPR College Ground, India Red added just six runs to their total before Saurabh had Ishan Kishan hole out to Anmolpreet. Ishan added just five to his total of 25 before walking back.

In the following over, Hooda got rid of the other overnight batsman – Writtick Chatterjee who scored 15 before being caught by Ricky Bhui.

From thereon, it was just a matter of time before as Hooda wiped off the tail. Saurabh added the scalp of Mihir Hirwani to complete his five-wicket haul. Hooda completed a fifer of his own by removing No. 10 Prasidh Krishna on 7 and then Ishan Porel (6).

Parvez Rasool remained unbeaten on 15 off 26 with two fours.
