The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) Trust has said that it is confident the new stand at the ground will be ready for the New Year Ashes Test, which starts on January 3.
Five hundred workers have been working on the 186 million-dollar revamp of the Noble, Bradman and Messenger stands in a bid to host spectators for the fifth Ashes Test, although the fact that the roof has not been built may prevent the work from being completed.
However, the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust chairman, Rodney Cavalier has said that the new product would be finished in time for the final Ashes Test and would be a testament to the builders” hard work, adding that the Lord’s is the only ground in the world that can compare with SCG’s magnificence.

Stating that there are no slackers on the site as every single person wants that roof finished, Cavalier further said that each person in the crowd will have a seat and almost everyone will have access to shade.
