IANS[/caption]

Shakib Al Hasan is set to be banned for not reporting a corrupt approach and kept away from the team practice ahead of the team's tour of India on the instructions of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

As per the reports in the Bangladesh media, Shakib, who is currently captaining the national T20I and Test sides, is set to be banned for 18 month by the world cricket's governing body.

The move could compound the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB's) problem ahead of the team's tour of India, which comprises of three Twenty20 internationals and two Tests. The series opener will be played on November 3.

"It was on insistence of ICC that Shakib has been kept away from practice by the BCB. That's the reason he neither featured in the practice games nor did he join the meeting late on Monday evening with the president to discuss pink ball Test," said a report in 'Samakal' as reported by PTI.

As per the report, Shakib had received an offer from a bookie ahead of an international match two years ago and he failed to report the approach to the ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU).
