Bangladesh‘s most dependable all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan added another feather to his hat as he joined the club of all-rounders with 8000 international runs and 400 internationals wickets after his name. Bangladesh is currently playing against Zimbabwe at home where Shakib got his 400th international wicket and that too in a pressure situation. With the wicket, Shakib became the sixth person with 8000 runs and 400 international wickets after Sanath Jayasuriya, Kapil Dev, Chris Cairns, Shahid Afridi and Jacques Kallis. Shakib continued his good work as he took two more wickets later on in the innings, helping Bangladesh to restrict the visitors to reach to the massive total of 200. Zimbabwe performed really well in the third Twenty20 International (T20I) as they posted a huge total of 187 against the hosts Bangladesh. With the total, Zimbabwe came back strong after winning the initial two matches. After a delayed start due to rain, openers Vusi Sibanda and Hamilton Masakadza promptly came into action as they started the fireworks n the initial overs itself. Though the first wicket was taken by debutant Mohammad Shahid, Shakib did his work just after he was handed the ball as he removed Richmond Mutumbami. Shakib, with the wicket, achieved the unique record and joined the club of all-rounders. He went on taking two more wickets, as he removed the danger man Sibanda for 44 and Malcolm Waller for 49. Both the batsmen looked in the mood to take the total to 200 which Shakib stopped them from doing and the Zimababwe team put the Bangladesh team in front of a target of 188. Shakib is currently the top ranked all-rounder in International Cricket Council(ICC)’s list for both One-Day Internationals(ODIs) and T20Is and is ranked second in the ICC ranking of Test all-rounders. He is also featured in the ICC ODI bowlers’ ranking in the second position.
