In an attempt to boost their profile in Bangladesh and the sub-continent on the whole, Chinese technology brand Lenovo has partnered with Bangladesh’s star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib is one of the most popular personalities in Bangladesh and is unarguably the most popular cricketer in the country. At present he holds the position of top all-rounder in all three formats namely Tests, One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). That is an unprecedented feat. “I am happy to start on this association with Lenovo, a global technology player. When I came to know that Lenovo too like me is an all-rounder, offering PCs, tablets, Smartphones, I felt this will be a meaningful relationship,” Shakib was quoted as saying by lenovo.com.
He spoke of technology’s role in proliferating Bangladesh’s youth saying, “I am confident that the youth of my country, if given opportunity, will prove that they are second to none. Technology will play a key role in empowering them and connecting them with the world. Lenovo promises to bring world-class products and thus makes technology accessible.”
