Afghanistan’s left-arm pacer Shapoor Zadran escaped unhurt in Kabul on Saturday night when unknown gunmen opened fire at his vehicle. According to a report, Zadran’s vehicle received several bullets during the attack, which took place at the Bagrami area in Kabul but the cricketer remained unhurt. This is not the first time unknown gunmen carried out an unsuccessful attack on the Afghanistan cricketer, who was a part of their impressive campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. The 29-year-old Zadran has so far played 39 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 27 T20 Internationals since making his international debut in 2009.

According to Khaama Press, Zadran was headed towards his home accompanied by his brother when unknown gunmen attacked his vehicle. The attackers managed to flee the area, and no group or any individual has so far taken responsibility of carrying out this attack. The report added that Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has so far not reacted on this incident.
