Shaun Marsh might play for the Perth Scorchers in the T20 KFC Big Bash after the three-day batting camp to prove his fitness for the Boxing Day Test Match against India.
Returning from a back injury, Marsh has been included in the squad for the first Test. The final decision regarding his availability would be taken by the team physio Alex Kountouris.
Marsh didn’t play for the Chairman’s XI against India in Canberra. However, his steady recovered puts him in contention for the upcoming Test.
Michael Clarke was quoted by www.cricket.co.au, “I think next few days are important for Shaun.”
“I know there’s a possible chance he could play in the Big Bash game on Thursday for the Scorchers so he will be assessed by Alex this afternoon and they will make a plan for that,” Clarke told the Herald Sun.
Clarke also told that Ricky Ponting is fine even though he hurt his hand in the nets while facing James Pattinson.
On commenting about Ben Hilfenhaus’ inclusion, Clarke said, “We have seen in the past he has got great control. He looks like he is swinging the ball nicely and he can bowl long spells which is a bonus in any team.”
