Derbyshire all-rounder Shiv Thakor was arrested following charges of indecent exposure to women on two separate occasions. The county club announced that Thakor had been suspended on full pay, while Derbyshire Police continue with the investigation. The club also announced that the allegations came during a period when he was not on club duty. Therefore, until the investigation gets completely over, Thakor would continue to remain suspended on full pay basis. However, the club refused to comment further on the state owing to legal issues. Thakor had earlier represented England in U-15 and U-19 tournaments, while he started his career at Leicestershire, before joining Derbyshire in 2015. "The club has been advised that one of our players, Shiv Thakor, has been arrested by police investigating allegations concerning the player when he was not on duty with the club. In consultation with the player's representatives, the player continues to be suspended on full pay pending the outcome of the investigations. For legal reasons, the club is unable to comment further at this stage," said Derbyshire in a statement. "We received a report that a man had indecently exposed himself to women on two separate occasions at a housing development off Radbourne Lane, in Mackworth," read a Derbyshire Police statement, as reported by cricket.co.uk.
"The incidents happened in June and our officers have been carrying out their investigations since then. A 23-year-old man voluntarily attended St Mary's Wharf police station and was interviewed in connection with the alleged offences. He has been released under investigation while our inquiries continue," the statement added.
