Shoaib Malik finds himself with elite company in an all-round record achieved during the third One-Day International (ODI) of the series against England at Sharjah. Malik dismissed Eoin Morgan to reach the 150-wicket milestone in the ODI format. In doing so Malik became only the seventh player in history to lay claim on the double of over 6,000 runs and 150 wickets. The others in the list include big names such as Sachin Tendulkar, Steve Waugh, Sanath Jayasuriya, Jacques Kallis, Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle. Malik’s record is testament to his great all-round ability in the ODI format. LIVE SCORECARD: Pakistan vs England, 3rd ODI at Sharjah

Malik will be particularly happy about the record because he reached it with the dismissal of the well set English captain at a crucial juncture of the game. The wicket increased Pakistan’s hopes of sealing victory in defence of a low total of 208. If Pakistan do go onto win the match, the record will be a lot sweeter for Malik. Malik has a decent batting average in mid-thirties and a middling bowling average of about 36. Malik recently retired from Test cricket and with his focus trained entirely on the limited-overs game he will hope to lift those numbers just a little bit. Malik has received a lot of purchase from the Sharjah track and will look for more wickets in a bid to improve Pakistan’s chance to win the game.

Below is attached a table of the cricketers who attained the record. The list is sorted in ascending order of the starting date of player careers.
