Pakistan batsman, Shoaib Malik scored his third century in test cricket on Day 1 of the first of the three-match Test series against England at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. His ton came off 182 deliveries including 13 boundaries along with a strike rate of 55.13. Currently, Pakistan are 246 for the loss of two wickets in 69 overs with Shoaib Malik on 102 and Younis Khan on 37. The last man to be dismissed was Mohammad Hafeez for 98, after he was trapped leg before to Ben Stokes at the stroke of tea break. Earlier, Pakistan skipper, Misbah ul Haq won the toss and elected to bat first as Pakistan went in with five specialist bowlers. As AFP reports, Hafeez and Malik, unbeaten on 72 at tea, added 168 for the second wicket to bolster Pakistan’s innings after Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and decided to bat. Malik, playing his first Test for five years, also had a reprieve when on 40 he was caught in the gully off paceman Stuart Broad only to see umpire signalling a no-ball. He has so far knocked eight boundaries in his ninth Test fifty, his first against England in five Tests.
